The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the US, named one of the nation's eight "must-see" boating events according to Powerboat Magazine. Our charity event raises funds for a range of local charitable organizations. Last year, we donated $445,000 to 32 different Charities and 8 Fire Departments.
In 2008, the Shootout moved to Captain Ron's Bar & Grill in Sunrise Beach, MO on the 34.5 mile marker.
To all spectators coming to the Shootout by water: please note that our normal no-wake zone runs from the 31-mile marker to the 36-mile marker from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 27th and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday the 28th. The no-wake zone will be extended to the 21-mile marker from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. only on Saturday, August 28th. Please observe the established no-wake zone, and on Saturday the extended no-wake zone. Our goal has always been to have one of the safest charity events on the water, and to protect not only the participants and spectators but also local residents. Please help us to accomplish this goal.
